About the Northampton Community Music Center:
Founded in 1986, the Northampton Community Music Center is a not-for-profit arts organization whose mission is to foster the love and pursuit of music within our community through quality education, performances, and activities that are accessible to all. NCMCs programming is made possible, in part, by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency (www.massculturalcouncil.org). For more information about NCMC, visit: www.ncmc.net
Tuition revenue only covers about 78% of NCMC's annual operating expenses. It takes the financial support of foundations, local businesses, and individual members of the community to keep our doors open, our tuition rates reasonable, and our scholarship program viable. Approximately one in seven students who attend NCMC require financial aid from our scholarship program to do so. To date, no qualifying applicant has ever been denied financial aid. Thank you for believing in our mission and for making music education accessible to all.
About the Northampton Center for the Arts:
The Northampton Center for the Arts is a private, non-profit organization, established in 1983 as the result of a public/private partnership between the City of Northampton and the developers of the former Sullivan School in downtown Northampton, a space the Center stewarded for 30 years. Now located in the Arts Trust building at 33 Hawley St, the Center provides affordable space for artists, performers, and educators while developing programming dedicated to arts education, multidisciplinary collaborations, and community connections.
After more than a year of planning, the Center is excited to launch its new Community Fund, which is available to all community members for program scholarships and to subsidize event tickets and space rentals. The Center is grateful for our community's support for accessible arts programming for all!
