BENEFIT CONCERT FOR THE 2014 BACH WEEK FESTIVAL

Sunday, October 13, 2013  2:30pm

One of today's most sought-after singers, opera sensation Susanna Phillips headlines the annual fundraiser for the Chicago area's Bach Week Festival.  Along with irresistible music by festival namesake J.S. Bach, you'll hear a poignant piece by Franz Schubert, performed by Ms. Phillips, with Larry Combs, longtime principal clarinetist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and pianist Elizabeth Buccheri, assistant conductor at Lyric Opera and the Chicago recitalist of choice for many marquee singers. "A Musical Afternoon with Susanna Phillips" is a special opportunity to hear the singer's famously "gleaming" soprano voice (The Boston Globe) in a venue far more intimate than an opera house or symphony hall.  Aspiring classical vocalists take note: you can bid on the opportunity to "sing with Susanna" at this very concert through an online contest benefiting Bach Week Festival 2014. Please visit the contest page for details.
