MBAA Jazz-A-F!RE Living Legends Honors - January 2020
MEMPHIS BLACK ARTS ALLIANCE OPENS A NEW DECADE WITH PURE CLASS!

JAZZ-A-F!RE LIVING LEGENDS HONORS
THE MEMPHIS LETTER CARRIER BAND!

Thats Right!  The Memphis Black Arts Alliance Jazz-A-F!RE Living Legends Honors is BACK and BETTER THAN EVER!  Sunday, January 26 from 4-7pm at the Beautiful Brinson's Restaurant, located at 341 Madison Avenue, MBAA will have on display the most noted Legendary Band to date!  We will honor and celebrate 100+ years of National Acclaim with THE MEMPHIS LETTER CARRIER BAND!

In 1870, John Robinson Love, native Memphian and son of a former slave, organized the Mail Carrier Orchestra after joining the postal service.  This amazing group of musicians soon stole the hearts of the city and changed their name to the Memphis Letter Carrier Band, as they were all Letter Carriers with the Memphis Postal Service, with the exception of their expert flutist, Mrs. Annabelle, who was the wife of the founder.  MLCB, one of the longest performing bands in the US, performed at every public gathering in Memphis and even went on to perform for President Theodore Roosevelt while touring throughout the United State, Mexico and Canada.  This award-winning legendary band, now under the leadership of Anthony McCants and Embery Hunt, offers an eclectic repertoire of music including Jazz, Pop, Memphis Soul, and R&B.  They have a rich history and legacy as they continue to uphold the standard of musical excellence in Memphis, TN and beyond.

Memphis Black Arts Alliances Jazz-A-F!RE will be hosted by the Gifted Evelyn Young, who just happens to be the Vice President of MBAA Board of Leaders!  Our Living Legends Honorees will croon us up the road of Jazz and Popular music with the vocal stylings of Miss Evelyn Young and Former Living Legend Honoree, Sandra Bray!  There is nothing in the city like MBAA Jazz-A-F!RE!

Come Join Us Sunday, January 26, 2020 as we welcome and honor the Spectacular Memphis Letter Carrier Band at the Memphis Black Arts Alliances Jazz-A-F!RE, beginning at 4pm, at Brinsons Restaurant Downtown, 341 Madison Avenue!  Tickets are $15 Advance and $20 Door.  For Information and Tickets, call, 901-948-9522 or visit our website at www.mbaafirehouse.org.
