A 100-year-old mine is closing in England and its long-time residents are losing their jobs and way of life. In its place, a new clothing factory is opening, bringing in lower-wage jobs, new residents and hopeful immigrants. The big changes coming to this small town collide in the local grocery store, where residents new and old must deal with the change. Can a small-town grocer be the change to make this town come together?
Based on a true story, this original staged musical is told through the songs of one of the most influential rock bands in history - The Kinks. Join us as the Brewster Theater Company brings together iconic music and an original, contemporary book that marries the many sides of hope and change.
Book by Bob Dumont. Directed by Bob Dumont. Musical Direction by Pam DeHuff. Produced by Stacy Dumont.
Audience is invited to stay after the show for a Q & A and talk back about the show.
