Food, yoga and farming meet for a long weekend retreat in the high desert of New Mexico. Join us for this yoga retreat at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm. Daily yoga will be paired with unique food experiences to create an unforgettable and healthy adventure in New Mexico. You enter a different realm as you drive down the cottonwood-lined lane leading to this historic property past thriving lavender fields, kitchen gardens, and a pond afloat with lotus blossoms. Upon arrival, you encounter a serene, hacienda-style courtyard. There's no flash here, no brass-buttoned uniforms or valets, just a quiet elegance. Spacious guest rooms are their own pristine worlds, with hand-hewn ceiling beams, garden views, and adobe fireplaces. The multiroom kitchen, with its nickel-plated Garland stove, hums as the talented cooks turn out what's known as Rio Grande Valley cuisine, which means region- ally inspired, seasonally driven, locally sourced, and al- most completely organic. Sweet and spicy pecans are an addictive snack, and a showy, delicious breakfast features porkcarnitas with eggs any style or Los Poblanos's spin on shakshuka (a spicy stew of tomatoes and eggs), to be spooned into fresh, warm tortillas. Dinner under the night sky by the gurgling courtyard fountain is just as special. Since taking the reins from his parents in 2004, proprietor Matthew Rembe has been crafting Los Poblanos into exactly the kind of personable, food-focused experience we're hungering for. Melissa Hamilton and Christopher Hirsheimer, Canal House HIGHLIGHTS - 3 nights accommodations at Los Poblanos - Organic Farm Tour - 4-Course Chef's Selection Tasting Menu & Cooking Demo - 5 yoga classes - Welcome Dinner - Full organic gourmet breakfasts "Peacocks strolling around the grounds of the Los Poblanos Inn serenade guests making their way to a sun-drenched dining area. A gourmet breakfast awaits, featuring melon from nearby fields and eggs from the hens that range the property. That's how life starts on a summer day at the 25-acre headquarters of New Mexico's historic Los Poblanos Ranch located in Albuquerque's North Valley.
