Beading 101 - Blingy Embellished Cuff Bracelet Workhop
Beading 101! This bracelet looks very impressive, but is actually easy to make and is a great introduction to bead weaving.
The class is taught in two parts, each 3 hours in length, purposefully a week apart to give students time to finish the base.
This first class will cover the basics of bead weaving: thread types, needles, color selections, types of seed beads. Then even count Peyote stitch is introduced, including starting, adding new thread, and finishing off. The class will start to build the base for their bracelets, which is an 8 bead wide cuff, constructed of 6 beads in a solid color. The students will be able to take this home to finish their base prior to the second class.
The second class, one week later, will cover different types of embellishment, and the sequence will be taught for embellishing the bracelet. After time to complete these steps, the class will review different types of clasps, and the clasp for this bracelet (3 hole bar clasp) will be attached. Students will leave with their bracelets complete.
Class fee: $50 for the two-part class, includes a detailed pattern for this bracelet, a needle, thread, and use of instructors supplies for thread part to base.
Supply Kit is available at cost from the instructor for $18 OR, students are welcome to purchase and bring their own supplies, as listed below: Base: 25 grams of 6 beads. Higher quality is preferred as these beads will be more uniform in size and shape. 1 tube 11 seed beads in a matching color to the 6 beads Embellishment: 22 crystals, 8x4mm rondell (may use alternatives such as 8mm round crystals or pearls) in a contrasting color to the base 88 crystals, 4mm round or bicone in a matching color to the rondells 1 tube 11 seed beads in a matching color to the rondells
