Synopsis: From the creator of the award-winning film LIFE IN STILLS (HAZALMANIA), Tamar Tal Anatis latest documentary is about three Italian Jewish brothersEmmanuel, Andrea and Bubiwho set off on a journey through Tuscany, in search of a cave where they hid as children to escape the Nazis. Their quest full of humor, food, and Tuscan landscapesstraddles the boundary between history and myth, both of which really, truly happened. This funny, thought-provoking, and powerful road-movie is a story about brotherly love, history, painful memories, and unconditional friendship.
Director Bio: Tamar Tal Anati is an award-winning filmmaker with more than 20 international awards. Her documentary LIFE IN STILLS won the Award of the Israeli Film AcademyIsraels highest film awardfor Best Documentary in 2012, was named Best Film at the DocAviv International Documentary Film Festival in Tel Aviv, has screened in more than 100 festivals around the world and was broadcast internationally. She was also named Best New Director at the Dok Leipzig International Film Festival in 2011. Her latest feature film, SHALOM ITALIA, was screened at the DocAviv Film Festival, IDFA, AFI Docs, Festival Dei Popoli, and was nominated for Israeli Academy Award. It was broadcast on PBS/POV, ARTE, and yes docu.
