Dear Ticketholder,
SAY AMENs Director David Deri unfortunately cannot join us in New York and has decided, due to the personal nature of the film, not to proceed with the screening. This is regrettable and disappointing as Deri is a talented filmmaker who we hosted for a Master Class last year, a multi-film alum of the NY Sephardic Jewish Film Festival (ANCESTRAL SIN, 2017; LABOR, REBELLION, UPHEVAL, 2019), and we were excited to partner with the Sephardic Mizrahi Q Network to give a platform for this important, freshly cut film as well as to foster a discussion with the community.
In lieu of this screening, we will be showing an encore performance of MAABAROT, a new documentary that returns and expands on some of the topics of Deris earlier efforts.
