Dan Miraldi & The Albino Winos
Dan Miraldi & The Albino Winos
Dan Miraldi is a rock and roll singer and songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio. He first fell in love with the music of the Beatles and Elvis Presley at the age of eight, and over the next decade became enamored and influenced by the songs of Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and the Ramones, along with more current bands such as Green Day and the White Stripes. When he was 17, he entered the local music scene, fronting several Cleveland-based rock acts. Dan's musical journey has found him sharing the bill with a wide variety of artists such as Blackalicious, Wiz Khalifa, James McCartney, Ari Hest, the Cool Kids, Family of the Year, the Trews, the Fiery Furnaces and even, Wang Chung.
Upon graduating from the College of Wooster, Dan began working with award-winning producer, Jim McKell. The result was Dan's highly-praised solo debut, Thirsty. In 2010, he put together his live backing band, the Albino Winos, made up of long-time friend and drummer, Sarah Luffred, guitarist Alex Bowers, and bassist Joe LaGuardia. Dan and the Albino Winos soon began promoting Thirsty with their high-energy rock shows. In the summer of 2010, Dan recorded and released his EP, Tease. The songs "Tease" and "Lucinda" received radio play in stations from Boston to Cleveland, while "The Holy Roller Stone Revival" became a finalist for the best rock song in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition. In 2011, Dan again teamed up with Jim McKell to record another EP, Rock N Roll Band!, cut in Atlanta, Georgia with the help of his live band. The band celebrated the release of the album with a packed hometown concert at the House of Blues and an east coast tour. In 2012, Miraldi released his second full-length album, Sugar & Adrenaline, which earned him rave reviews in both the United States and Europe. The record was promoted by an extensive national tour and received airplay on over 140 FM stations. Dan is very optimistic about his future having recently recorded a brand new EP, Devil At Our Heels, in Nashville, TN with Grammy-nominated producer and engineer, Chris Grainger (Wilco, Sixpence None The Richer, Five Knives, Switchfoot). The new EP is scheduled for release later this summer as Dan and his band return to the road.
