Communal Coffee is an ongoing series designed to offer a casual environment for budding filmmakers to converse with seasoned professional filmmakers. Expertise has been offered by other participants such as Megan Griffiths (Director of The Night Stalker, Eden), Jeff Unay (Director of The Cage Fighter), and Mark Titus (Founder of August Island Pictures).
This February we will be joined by Claire Buss and Justin Jeffers from Cut. Youve probably seen their viral videos on Youtube or any social media platform. Join us in a casual conversation with Claire and Justin about their experiences working in the fast paced world of content creation and be sure to bring questions of your own!
Claire Buss
Claire Buss is a writer and director who has created videos for Snapchat, Netflix, Showtime, Google Arts & Culture, Nike, Disney, and more. She is the head writer and host of The Future is 0, a live game show series that was also recognized as a finalist for the NYTVF truTV Comedy Breakout Initiative. Claire is the co-founder of the art collective Weird Dog Productions. She currently works as a director at Cut.com

Justin Jeffers
Justin is a 27 Year old, multi-media visual artists residing in Seattle, Washington. Currently paving his own lane as a freelance Director/Editor, Justin strives to create thoughtful content that fully reflects the culture & community he grew up in. After returning from the University of Oregon with a degree in Digital Arts in 2017 Justin now uses his years of camera experience in film, and photography to create his own unique style in an industry that is continually evolving.
Justin draws inspiration from everywhere, especially 90s street art, hip hop, and social activism of today. In order to bring his visions to reality Justin strives to continue growing, learning, and gaining new experiences. Recently, Justin Directed the short film Visualizing Lies which won the April Art With Impact Short Film Competition in April 2019. Other recent work includes collaborations with CUT Studios, Public Interest TV, Dystnct Media, ESPN & PAC-12. His original work has been exhibited by The Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Arts, as well as Euegenes Hult Center for Performing Arts.
