Workshop: Painting Tropical Flowers in Watercolor with instructor Kathleen Alexander
A 3-day workshop in Watercolors.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 31 - August 2, 2020, 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Meet Kathleen Alexander: My paintings are usually about capturing a quiet moment in nature or in life. At the same time, I love to use strong, dynamic colors, and accentuate the contrast between light and shadow in my paintings to create depth and realism. Living on Maui has really been inspiring as an artist. The only way to describe it is to say that I had been living in black and white, and suddenly someone turned on the color.
Join Kathleen for a three-day workshop on painting tropical flower in watercolor. Layering and glazing effects are used to create luminosity, depth and realism.
Student prerequisites: Basic knowledge of watercolor painting techniques.

A northern California native, Kathleen has two adult children, and has lived on Maui with her husband of 30 years, Tom, since 2010. Her work has been included in two issues of Watercolor Artist magazine, and seven issues of Splash, a watercolor compilation book by North Light Books. Kathleen also teaches watercolor workshops across the U.S., and has been accepted into watercolor exhibitions and received awards across the globe. Kathleen was awarded signature membership in the National Watercolor Society in October 2018.
She has won numerous awards and has an extensive CV. Her works have been displayed at numerous galleries. She lives in Hawaii. Her website is https://kathleenalexanderart.com/
