Join us for the 4th NorCal Gathering. Well be learning and sharing experiences and information about creating and supporting person centered systems, organizations and services through the implementation of person-centered practices. Well also be thinking and talking about how California is faring in light of the Final Rule.
General Sessions Hosted or Moderated by Michael Smull: It Takes More Than Training From Exposure to Habit to Embedding More on the Silver Bullet Syndrome or What's Next for Person Centered Thinking and Planning in California?
Break-Out and General Session Conversations Include: Person Centered Practices and Cultural Diversity; Plans That Connect People to Their Communities; Families; and an Update on PCT Curriculum for Trainers and Mentors. An Open Marketplace process will be used to determine additional topics. Bring your ideas of what you would like to learn and what you have to share.
Registration: Cost is $200 per person. Includes lunch both days, materials, coffee and snacks. Registration at brownpapertickets.com starting 1/15/20 under NorCal Gathering of The Learning Community.

"Gathering" - To come together to learn and share in both structured and informal conversations, experiences and information, about creating and supporting person centered systems, organizations and services through the implementation of person-centered practices. This Gathering will be inspiring for: PCT Trainers, Mentors, PCT Coaches, Regional Center Service Coordinators, Administrators, Supervisors, Direct Support Staff, Individuals Who Receive Services And Their Families. No previous history in Person Centered Thinking training is necessary.
Vision of the Learning Community All people have positive control over the lives they have chosen for themselves
Purpose of the Learning Community To foster a global community that shares knowledge about supporting people in getting the lives they want. Our focus is on people who do not have positive control or are at risk of losing positive control because of society's response to the presence of a disability.
The Gathering is being organized by Learning Community Mentors and Trainers: Bill Allen, Allen Shea and Associates, Sheila Keys, Redwood Coast Regional Center, Cindy Giliam Sullivan, Redwood Coast Regional Center and Claudia Bolton, NorthStar Services and CIRCL.
