Bucks County Symphony Fall Concert
The Bucks County Symphony, under the direction of Maestro Gary Fagin, will start its 56th season with its annual fall concert on Saturday evening, October 11, 2008. This delightful concert will feature viola soloist Brett Deubner whose style has been called extremely sensitive and expressive by Classical New Jersey. According to the New Jersey Star-Ledger, there is a burning intensity to Deubners playing, and a refreshing variation in the color of his viola tone. Mr. Deubner has appeared as a soloist with the Knoxville Symphony, the New Jersey Symphony, the North Shore Philharmonic and the Bachanalia Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Astoria Symphony, the Kiev Camerata and the National Symphony Orchestra of Ecuador. He serves on the faculty of the Boyer School of Music and Dance at Temple University, is the Concert Artist in Viola at Kean University in Union, New Jersey, serves as visiting professor in Quito, Ecuador, and is the Artistic Director of the Woodmere Arts Collective Series. Mr. Deubners recital and chamber music appearances have taken him around the world, from Washington, D.C. to Germany to Brazil.
The evenings performances will include Georg Philipp Telemanns Viola Concerto in G Major, Paul Hindemiths Trauermusik, Johannes Brahms Hungarian Dances and Ludwig van Beethovens Symphony No. 5 in c minor.
The concert will be held at 8:00 p.m. at Central Bucks South High School, 1100 Folly Road, Warrington, PA. Tickets are $18 per person in advance ($20 at the door); $15 for senior citizens. Students are admitted free of charge. Season tickets may be purchased for $50 each ($36 for senior citizens).
