Fruit Tree Grafting Workshop
In cooperation with the Backyard Fruit Growers organization, we are offering a one-time workshop on how to propagate heirloom apples through grafting. You will learn how to graft an apple scion wood (graftable cutting) into another living rootstock to create a new plant with fruit identical to the original cutting.
The skills learned will not only give you two living grafted trees to take home, but also the ability to do other grafting on your own later. For this workshop, you will be able to choose between many apple varieties for your project.
Cost of the rootstock and the scion wood are included in the workshop fee.
If you have a grafting knife, please bring it along.
If you do not have one, grafting knives will be available to use on your project or to purchase.
Cancellation Policy: All materials must be pre-purchased by the instructor; therefore, cancellations can only be refunded prior to sales-end date. Refunds can be requested through Brown Paper Tickets up to 12 hours after purchase. After that grace period and before the sales-end date, refunds will be issued via a paper check from the Landis Valley Associates, less a $20 non-refundable processing fee. Please contact landisvalley@gmail.com or 717-569-0401 to request your refund. We reserve the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registration. In that case, students can use funds already spent towards the cost of another class or receive a full refund.
