Write The Truth: A Writers Workshop & Competition
This is your sign. 2020 is the year. Its time to get writing.
Write the Truth will serve writers of all experience levels (from completely new to seasoned professionals) and disciplines (from songwriters to playwrights to poets). Unlike a traditional workshop, there will be no emphasis on sharing your work, unless you feel comfortable doing so. Well create a safe, accepting, and nurturing space in which to connect with your thoughts and grow your skill.
For those interested, there will also be a playwriting competition with guest judges Leonard Farlinger and Terry Fallis! Be sure to bring your team. The winner will have their play performed at the Algonquin Theatre during the performance run of Perfect Pie.
Schedule:
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: "Write the Truth" Workshop
8:00 p.m.: Competition registrants arrive. You can come as a team (i.e. writer/director/actors) depending on what you think you'll want to do.
8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.: Audience and judges arrive and enjoy wine and snacks as the registrants write and organize themselves.
9:00 p.m.: Performances start by random selection. When all 3-5 minute short plays are done the judges deliberate and announce. Winners open one night of Perfect Pie.
