SUPPORT WILDLIFE! SIGN UP TO BECOME A HABITAT STEWARD!

The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) in partnership with the King County WaterWorks Grant Program is offering a specialized, multi-week training to teach you how to help others create and restore wildlife habitat in backyards, schoolyards, and other private and public areas. You get to meet and interact with local conservation professionals and other similarly interested folks while participating in this engaging, fun, and highly informative program!

Benefits include: a NWF volunteer t-shirt, hands-on training, engaging work parties and field trips, a comprehensive training manual with local resources, instruction from local professionals, and continued support from NWF staff.

Expert speakers will present on topics such as:

-Gardening for wildlife
-Landscaping with native plants
-Identifying noxious weeds
-Building healthy soil
-And much more!

Classes will take place the first four Tuesdays in March from 6-9 pm at the Renton Academy (2607 Jones Ave S, Renton, WA 98055). Work parties and field trips will provide Habitat Stewards with practical experience designing, installing, and maintaining water-wise gardens. These work parties will take place March 7th, March 15th and March 21st; please plan on a full day!

We provide coffee, tea, and light snacks at each weekday training session. The Renton Habitat Stewards training is supported by PCC Markets, Jimmy John's Sandwiches, and QFC!
