The Workers Theatre Festival
SOMETHING HAS TO HAPPEN
presents a rehearsed reading of Uma Nada-Rajah's new work, The Baby.
The Baby is a darkly farcical exploration of femininity, populism and the savagery inherent in 'civilised' politics.
Uma Nada-Rajah is a playwright and nurse based in Kirknewton, Scotland. She is a graduate of the Royal Court Theatres Young Writers Programme, a recent winner of the New Playwrights Award from Playwrights Studio Scotland and a current member of the gal-dem Literature Group.
This work was developed through the National Theatre of Scotland's Starter Programme (supported by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation)
