Starr Foster Dance: In Rest and Sleep
Starr Foster Dance presents the premiere of In Rest and Sleep, an evening length work about love, loss, reflection and unlimited chances. Designed to be viewed 'in the round', this new work creates a sense of a parallel universe; drifting between existence and the afterlife and then questioning how we value one another and our relationships. If you were to receive the opportunity for another chance, what changes you would make? Known for creating emotionally resonant works, Artistic Director Starrene Foster has received numerous awards for her teaching and choreography and feels strongly about creating work that embraces the human spirit. Foster has been recognized as CHOREOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2019 by RVA Dance Awards, Richmonds Most Prestigious 25 Arts Innovators, Style Weeklys The Top 40 under 40 and is the beneficiary of the 2003 VCU Star Alumni Award where she is presently in her twentieth year as an adjunct faculty member. SFD performs regularly through out the county and is dedicated to their mission of collaborating with all types of artists in their quest to make the world richer with art.
