Cello Recital: Megan Titensor Performs Chopin and Bach
Please join us for a recital of music written for cello and piano presented by Megan Titensor, cello and Hillary Nordwell, piano.
Cello Sonata in G Minor by Frederic Chopin Cello Suite No. 4 in E-flat Major by Johann Sebastian Bach Mazurka by David Popper Nocturne by Auguste Franchomme
Although Frederic Chopin is best known for his piano works, he composed a handful of works for other instruments including this cello sonata, written at the end of his life. While living in Paris he became acquainted with the renowned cellist of the day, Auguste Franchomme, whom this sonata is written for.
We pay tribute to Chopin and his inspirations - his friend, Auguste Franchomme, the traditional Polish dance of his homeland, and finally, one his favorite composers, J. S. Bach.
Admission is considered a donation to offset the expenses of production.
