Pippin
PIPPIN Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz Book by Roger O. Hirson Directed By: Christina Sheehan Musical Director: Jonathan Matthews
Rivers belong where they can ramble. Eagles belong where they can fly."
After another critically acclaimed season with productions of A Midsummer Nights Dream and the smash hit BARE, Queens Shakespeare and What Dreams May Co. are back to treading the boards in 2020 with a new production of Pippin (Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, Book by Roger O. Hirson).
Director Christina Sheehan helms the staging of Stephen Schwartzs 1972 musical masterpiece about one young mans journey to be extraordinary. She utilizes the enduring mythos of the traveling theatre/circus troupe and immersive ensemble storytelling to shine the looking glass on the storys sociopolitical allegories, in all of their musical theater magnificence. Join us for another season of epic stories as we explore the all too human search for meaning, the hunt for glory both on the battlefield and in the intrigues of tyrannical political power, and everyones personal quest to find their own Corner of the Sky.
