FEATURED FILM:
AMERICAN FACTORY 2019 | 115 minutes | TV-14
In 2014 a Chinese billionaire buys a defunct American car factory and puts back to work 1,000 Americans, alongside some Chinese workers. AMERICAN FACTORY sets out to chart what's supposed to be a test-run for the future of the auto industry and an example of positive international relations. It ends up capturing a cross-cultural car wreck in slow motion, sparking conversation about how the working class in both China and America are being affected by globalization and automation. Most compelling. Added bonus, the filmmakers don't ratchet up the tension nor do they present their own POV. huge conversation potential in post-film discussion. Produced by Michelle & Barack Obama.
