You have likely heard that fermented foods are good for you. But if you havent, I will tell you: fermented foods are good for you. The good news is that they are also easy to make right in your own home with just a few easy to purchase items. In this class, Jill will review the important aspects of fermenting and why its healthful. You will learn to make your own sauerkraut- flavored to your taste, kimchi and fermented nut and/or seed cheese. This is a hands-on class and materials will be provided. You will be taking home a jar of each ferment that you have made. Jill will teach you how to continue the process at home for better health, flavor and longevity.
Jill Nussinow aka The Veggie Queen™ is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, cookbook author and chef/instructor at Santa Rosa Junior College. She also has a business called Coastal Brine Delights and makes custom fermented products that include local vegetables and other resources. She has been a presenter at The Sonoma County Fermentation Festival for many years showing people how to make kichi, pickles, fermented seed and nut cheese as well as her specialty: fermentillas. She loves to share the joy of fermenting with anyone interested in this almost lost art.
