TRYmester: Jewish Fertility Journeys Out Loud is a performance created from interviews, conversations and responses from people throughout the NYC Jewish community who have dealt with fertility challenges, exploring the situations people found themselves in, and the unexpected emotions that arose when living through them. In open salons and one-on-one discussions, community members shared their stories, and discussed challenges, gifts, and lessons they learned. These dialogues shaped the performance, providing the source material and underlying themes. Individual journeys became characters, scenarios, and inspirations. In a series of culminating performances participating community members will see their words and stories come to life, woven into a tapestry of songs, dances and monologues.
TRYmester is co-created by Uprooted and The In[heir]itance Project, and exists as a musical concept album and a live performance, both of which can be used as conversation starters around the topic of fertility in Jewish communities around the country.
