California Country is a thing. It's a beautiful thing, actually. It's the gift Victoria George gives her growing legion of fans everyday, and it's worth knowing intimately.
California Country happens when places like Northern California's Marin County and country music meccas like Nashville collide. The result in Victoria George's case is rather fascinating - a sound that's part San Francisco folk, part Nashville/bluegrass twang, all heart and revelations and smarty-pants yarn-spinnin. Gather round, Victoria beckons.
Victoria will be backed by some of the Bay Area's best and most in-demand musicians - James DePrato on guitar, Mike Anderson on bass, and Kyle Caprista on drums.
Matt Jaffe is a singer/songwriter from San Francisco. Cutting his teeth on countless open mics around the Bay Area, Matt started pursuing music more seriously when Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads offered to produce his first record.
Since then, Matt has churned out more songs than he can remember the words to, over-saturated the market with gigs (opening for folks like Mavis Staples and Wilco), and co-written with the likes of Chuck Prophet.
