Two more outstanding young performers grace our second Steinway Chamber Concert.
Avanti Future Stars Senior Division winner and featured soloist at our February orchestra concert, 16 year old pianist Eric Lin, is a student at Corona del Sol High School in Tempe. Eric has taken top prizes in piano competitions sponsored by MTNA, Yamaha Pianos, the Arizona Musicfest, and the James Anthony, Schimmel, and Keogh foundations. He studies with MNO Board Member Hong Zhu.
Clarinetist Alex Dergal attends Dobson High School in Mesa, where he earned AMEA All-State Festival honors as the top performer on his instrument. Alex is in his second year with the Phoenix Youth Symphony, where he was a 2013 Senior Division Scholarship Winner, and has been praised for the "talent, poise, professionalism, and dedication" in his performances. He studies with Dr. Joshua Gardner at ASU.
