Love's Old Sweet Song
As a result of our collaboration with the Armenian Dramatic Arts Alliance, Syzygy is participating in an international celebration honoring the 100th birthday of the renowned Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and author, William Saroyan. A native of Fresno, Saroyan wrote many stories about life and times in California during the first half of the 20th Century. We will be celebrating the Saroyan Centennial with the production of his "lost" classic, Love's Old Sweet Song, which originally opened on Broadway in 1940 and has not been produced professionally in nearly 70 years. It's funny, extremely entertaining and maintains the feeling of much of Saroyan's work - his boundless optimism for the power of the human spirit.
