Matthew Shipp
The Howland Cultural Center, Beacon's unparalleled arts, cultural and entertainment venue, now celebrating its 40th Anniversary of presenting superb musical events in Beacon and the Hudson Valley, is pleased to present the Elysium Furnace Work's March latest offering in its 2020 Concert Series, a solo performance by renowned jazz pianist, Matthew Shipp.
"When describing the career of pianist Matthew Shipp, 'prolific' is the definite understatement. Now pushing 60, this longtime downtown New York City force has a staggering oeuvre as leader, co-leader, and collaborator. Yet his mission--to reinvent jazz piano--has remained constant." Brad Cohan, Jazz Times.
