Reggie Harris at Meeting House Presents
Reggie Harris is a deeply rooted singer/songwriter, storyteller, educator and cultural ambassador known worldwide for his ability to inspire hope and empower others. in community building and positive social change.
He is a presenter in great demand averaging over 300 concerts and lectures per year at music and story festivals, arts centers, universities, schools and in diverse places of worship throughout the U.S, Canada, and Europe
For over 40 years he has been a powerful interpreter of the history of song on the Underground Railroad and of the role of music in the modern Civil Rights Movement. A teaching artist in the Kennedy Centers CETA program (Changing Education Through the Arts) for over 25 years, Reggie is a Fellow in the prestigious Woodrow Wilson Scholars independent college lecture program and also serves as the Director of Music Education for the UU Living Legacy Project, an advocacy group that sponsors civil rights pilgrimages and conferences throughout the South.
He is a featured artist is the Americans Who Tell the Truth portrait series by Maine artist Rob Shetterly and received the 2018 Magic Penny Award for lifetime achievement for his impact in music from the Childrens Music Network.
His latest recording Ready To Go landed at #5 CD on the Folk DJ Charts and was in the top 30 on the US Folk DJ charts for 5 months of 2018. The title cut was the #1 songs for May2018. Reggie and the CD and Reggie were featured on The Village on SiriusXM Radio in 2019 as it continues to garner significant airplay and reviews.
