When was the last time you spent a full day dedicated to being quiet, present and opening the heart?
Join this one-day Silent Retreat and give yourself a unique and profound opportunity to quiet the mind, rejuvenate the body and open the heart.
Come learn and practice silent meditation on the heart, calm and interiorized Tantric hatha yoga and techniques for daily life awareness which can lead to more moments of stillness, surrender, and joy in everyday life. This is the path of the Spiritual Heart.
We will explore The Spiritual Heart and its physical, emotional and spiritual implications, which can eventually lead us into the essence of our Being, our True Self. By cultivating an opening to this depth of our very Self and learning how to settle ourselves in this powerful center, we can drastically change our relationship to ourselves and to the world, giving us more space to be present, rooted, trusting and connected.
Using techniques from various esoteric tradition, well learn how to create the best conditions for a life of presence, including cultivating awareness, mental concentration, opening the Heart and applying these techniques in daily life. The Tantric Yoga practice engages not only the physical body, but the entire being. Postures and breathing practices are performed with awareness, turning physical practice into blissful meditation.
No previous meditation or yoga experience is necessary as this retreat is designed for beginner and advanced meditators alike. All bodies and abilities are welcome. The days atmosphere will be one of love and spiritual growth.
Come for a day of silence and take peek into the deeper dimension of your being. If youve yet to experience the intimacy of silence, you will never forget the gateway it can be to Love, presence and surrender.

- FINDING US: The new SEC space is on Capitol Hill, on 19th Ave East between E. Roy and E. Mercer Streets. The official address is 1818 E. Mercer Street, but there is no building marked with that address and the building itself is not really visible from Mercer. So your best bet is to navigate to the Monsoon Restaurant, whose address is 615 19th AVE E.
Facing Monsoon, go up the stairway on the south side (between Monsoon and Zeeks Pizza). At the top of the stairs is the Mercer Professional Building. Take a Left and walk about 20 feet South, then turn Right and walk to the end of the planter box on your right. Our entrance is the glass door.
- PARKING: Arrive with enough time to find a space. Parking is available on 19th or on the side streets. There is untimed parking a block North on 19th between Aloha and Roy. There is also untimed parking to the East on 20th Ave. There is also a disabled parking spot in the alley between 18th & 19th.
- PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Use the Monsoon restaurant address of 615 19th Ave E.
- ACCESSIBILITY: The accessible entrance, including an electronic lift, is located off Mercer in the alley between 18th & 19th on the north side of the street. From the corner of Mercer & 19th, you have to go up a hill past the Shea Apartments to the alley.
To operate the lift, press the II button to open the door, then once inside press and hold I to lower the lift. You do not need a key to operate.

The accessible door to the building is the glass door in front of the lift. As you enter this door, go to the end of the lobby and turn right to enter SEC. The outside door is unlocked between 8am-8pm. All of our events begin before 8pm, but if you know youll need to enter after, please contact Heather to make arrangements. Our main SEC door is having a ramp installed in October.
Accessibility is very important to our community. Please contact info@sacred-embodiment.org any time with questions or feedback. All of our events have accessible seating available couch, chairs, backjacks and benches.
- PRIVACY: We have a privacy and confidentiality policy for our community which you will be asked to sign when you attend your first event. Basically, we agree not to share your information and we ask you not to share others information.
- VENUE: please, be aware our location is smoke free and shoe free.
- SUBSTANCES: SEC intends to cultivate conscious living, conscious loving and freedom. Intrinsic in the work of increasing our consciousness is a keen noticing of our bodies and of those around us. This deep listening doesn't mix well with alcohol or other substances, so please don't consume those that would hinder your natural state before attending or at events.
- SCENTS: Please, be mindful when wearing colognes, perfumes, essential oils or other scented or chemical products to our events. Some people are extremely sensitive. We are not currently a scent-free space, however we do our best to be scent sensitive
