Noche de Tango: with Mira Barakat & Scott O'Day
Welcome to Noche de Tango! A new live tango music event in the Bay Area.
Noche de Tango will happen periodically and feature an exciting line-up of local and visiting tango musicians, teachers and dancers.
This first Noche de Tango will feature Mira Barakat & Scott O'Day giving a unique musicality workshop followed by live tango concert for dancing & listening at the beautiful venue Alma del Tango. It will also be the album release party for Mira's first tango album Mira Barakat Tangos.

Tango Salón concert only $30 at the Door
Musicality Workshop: We will cover key musical terms such as marcato, síncopa, and 2x4 vs. 4x4, and will draw upon Scott & Mira's musical knowledge for concise explanations of why these concepts are important to the tango dancer. We will give live examples and recorded examples and Mira will give techniques and exercises to learn how to apply these important musical concepts into our dance. Open to all levels, no partner necessary.
Tango Salón: The Salón will feature live tango performances of danceable music by Mira & Scott, as well as select DJ sets. Guests are welcome to come to dance or just to listen to the concert and enjoy the beautiful venue. There will be wine (by donation) and snacks to enjoy. As the name implies, Noche de Tango will be a night with a lot of tango, but more intimate and cozy than an typical milonga.
Album release: This Noche de Tango event will be the official release of Mira's first tango album: Mira Barakat Tangos. Mira and Scott will perform some of the songs on the album, and the it will be available for sale!
About the Artists:
Mira Barakat is a local tango dancer, instructor, and singer who calls Buenos Aires her second home. She teaches and performs tango around the Bay Area as well as abroad, and sings tango regularly as a duo with Scott O'Day. For more about Mira: https://www.mirabarakat.com/
