Let's start the New Year off right! Double Bangers 2020 is ready to begin with a double bill sketch lineup to the Assembly Theatre that will make you pee your pants with laughter (bring extra); Vest of Friends & Definition of Knowledge!
Vest of Friends is made up of the vest-clad Marc Hallworth, Morgan George, and Evan Richardson. They have appeared on ShawTV as part of The Late Night With Matty D, and are the winners of the Best-of-the-Fest Award at the 2016 Toronto SketchFest, the Sketchiest-Sketch-Troupe Award at the 2016 Toronto SketchFest. Their podcast The Vest of Friends Podcast was twice nominated for the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Audio Series, and all 100 episodes can be heard on neversleepsnetwork.com.
Hannan Younis (New Eden, What We Do In The Shadows) and Bryn Pottie (Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs) make up Definition Of Knowledge, the a slam poetry duo that uses spoken word to empower those who are not talented enough to speak for themselves. They bravely speak out about important issues like equality, DMX and animal penises. Based out of Toronto, they've performed at OffJFL, JFL 42, Austin Sketchfest, Montreal Sketchfest and Toronto Fringe and were finalists for best of Toronto Sketchfest. Mooney On Theatre called them a "gut-busting sketch-slam extravaganza"!
The low low price of $20 gets you both shows AND a tall can from our sponsor, Henderson Brewing co. (Or $15 for just the shows!)
