Sarasota Folk Club - Mara Levine and The Whispering Tree
Join the Sarasota Folk Club for their Monthly Concert. There is no open Mic this Month.
The Whispering Tree performs 7pm-8pm, and
Mara Levine performs 8:30pm-9:30pm.
Mara Levine
Called one of the best singers of her generation by Christine Lavin, folksinger and jewelry designer Mara Levine has been creating beautiful interpretations of fine traditional and contemporary folk songs for many years and singing professionally since 2002. Folk DJ Jim Marino has referred to her as "golden-voiced," while Michael Stock calls her voice "full, rich and soothing." Mara was nominated in 2009 for the Suzi Wollenberg Folk DJ Showcase at the Northeast Regional Folk Alliance (NERFA) Conference. She was selected for a Quad showcase at NERFA for 2014.
The Whispering Tree
The Franco-American duo, which includes singer/songwriter Eleanor Kleiner and multi-instrumentalist Elie Brangbour, craft richly immersive folk-rock brimming with evocative lyrics, nature imagery, perspectives from travel, and a panoramic musicality that encompasses traditional folk, indie rock, classic rock, and 1960s pop and rock n roll.
Doors Open at 6:00pm.
Food Truck will have food available for purchase.
Beer, Wine, non-alcoholic beverages, coffee and tea are available for purchase.
This is a Rental and NOT a WSLR+Fogartyville ticketed event.
