Songwriters Night with Emily Drinker, Matthew Gordon, Kora Feder and Aaron Nathans
Aaron Nathans and Avi Wisnia host Songwriters Night, a monthly residency showcasing some of the best local and touring songwriters. Come experience a unique night of songs, storytelling and collaboration in this intimate listening room environment. February's concert features Emily Drinker, Matthew Gordon, Kora Feder and Aaron Nathans, presented in the round.
About Emily Drinker:
Emily Drinker is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Philadelphia. She blends folk, soul, and pop with live looping. In 2018, Emily was featured by NPR Music in their Tiny Desk on the Road tour as an opening act for Naia Izumi. In 2017 she released her debut EP, performed to a sold-out crowd at Bourbon and Branch in Philly, won the Philadelphia Songwriters Project contest, and performed at Firefly Music Festival. About Matthew Gordon:
Melody, lyrics and feel are what guide the work of Matthew Gordon. His current work as a solo artist, as well as with his band Silvershade Scenery and previous projects, have varied from rock to R&B to folk to bluegrass, but he has always exhibited his unique voice. He has also kept busy as a sideman, adding dobro, harmonica, mandolin and/or guitar to such luminaries as Michael G. About Kora Feder:
A self-proclaimed "songwriter and concerned citizen," Kora Feder has already gained international recognition and awards for her lyrical craft. Her debut full length record "In Sevens" spent four months on US Folk Radio Charts, drawing comparisons to Pete Seeger's writing and Iris Dement's voice. NPR recently described Feder's music as carrying "an emotional weight that can stop you in your tracks, even long after the song is finished." About Aaron Nathans:
Aaron Nathans' mission is to write songs about things that no one else has written about before. This leads into some strange and dimly-lit corners of life. This Philly-area-based songwriter's shows include humorous, meandering stories that will keep you every bit as captivated as the music itself - beautiful guitar work, catchy melodies, and his sweet baritone voice and incredible vocal range.
