Cal Scott and Richard Moore welcome Portland singer-songwriter and bass player to the stars Denny Bixby, to their Songwriter Circle at Artichoke Music, Monday February 3 at 7:00pm. The series is sponsored by Hearing Health of Raleigh Hills.
Outside Portland, Denny Bixby is known primarily for his
work as a sideman with several Grammy and other award-winning artists like Rodney Crowell, Buddy Miller, Nanci Griffith, Mary-Chapin Carpenter, Chet Atkins, Suzy Bogguss, Kathy Mattea and others. Portland knows him by his years of work with a large number of its most successful and respected musicians, including Quarterflash, Curtis Salgado, Jon Koonce, Lloyd Jones and a host of others in several genres. He has two albums of his own, the latest being the 2017 release Joyride, which features his own songs. Denny was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
The Circle regulars with Denny will be Cal Scott and Richard Moore, who have fine-tuned their acoustic chops together and individually over the past forty-some years. And now their collaboration in the Songwriter Circle has been running almost nine years.
This will be the circles first visit to Artichoke Music. We hope our long-time friends will join us in this new venture across the river.
