Girls With Guitars brings a taste of Music City tradition to Michael's On Main when Christie McCarthy, Tracy Parker, and Janean Christine Mariani (all backed by the legendary Patti Maxine on steel guitar) come together to share the stage and a night of stories, sass, and songs.
Christie McCarthy is an award-winning singer-songwriter, whose subtly complex hooks and lush harmonies reveal a wealth of influences from the realms of folk, Americana and rock n roll, writes Good Times columnist Aaron Carnes. Christie has released four original records and a holiday jazz album. She has performed for hundreds of audiences at diverse venues across the country, including the Ryman Auditorium (the original Grand Ole Opry). Her songs are featured on compilations by Target, Sharper Image, Wells Fargo and others, as well as on TV. Christies blues-rock anthem Forgiveness is in rotation on KPIG.
Tracy Parker: is a talented multi-instrumentalist and a powerhouse of a vocalist. She touches hearts with her humor and her impeccable interpretation of a song. Parker's acoustic guitar and sultry vocals will shine in this special evening of artists in the round.
Janean Christine Mariani writes and sings stripped-down bare-bones Americana songs of life, love, loss, and every now and again a touch of sass and blues. Her set lists are an aural tapestry of her original compositions delicately woven with select covers honoring her professional influences, the revered songwriters: Mary Chapin Carpenter, Rosanne Cash, Brandy Clark, and Ashley McBryde. Her live performances are raw, loose, vulnerable and real. No matter the size of the audience or venue, her intimate style makes folks feel at home, as though she's singing to them in the comfort of their living room or gathered 'round a kitchen table.
Patti Maxine is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and steel guitar legend. The Sweetheart Of Steel will bring her magic to this special evening, backing this talented lineup of songbirds in the round.
