Half of all refugees are children and more than ever before are unaccompanied. Many have been forced to flee alone, or have lost family members on the dangerous journey to Europe. Thousands are living in squalid camps or rough on the streets, vulnerable to trafficking, violence and abuse, despite many of them having a legal right to travel to safety. Through a combination of legal casework, campaigning and advocacy, Safe Passage helps children to access their right to find a safe place to call home, then supports their first steps to rebuilding their lives. Safe Passage has helped more than 1,800 child refugees read safety - but more children need our help.

Milan-based lawyer and theatre producer Julia Holden was born in the UK to German-Jewish refugees of Nazi persecution, and this evenings concert will feature readings from the childhood memoirs of her mother and uncle, Childhood in Berlin, read by Julia and her brother and sister Barry and Diana Holden, alongside present-day testimonies of child refugees supported by Safe Passage International.

All funds raised will go to support the work of Safe Passage International.
