Sex trafficking is a national epidemic, with up to 300,000 children sold for sex each year, and it continues to grown at alarming rates. Experts and law enforcement struggle to combat this underground criminal enterprise, yet traffickers lure, manipulate and force a shocking number of young girls into selling their bodies to meet the high demand for commercial sex.
In recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness month, Rebuilding Hope! The Sexual Assault Center for Pierce County invites you to attend a free screening of Shattered Dreams, a first of its kind feature length documentary that explores the deeply rooted issues involved. Following the film, we will offer a panel of local professionals to respond to questions from the audience. You know trafficking is a community crisis, this is your chance to learn more.
