Winter Musical: "Tick, Tick...BOOM!"
"Tick, Tick...BOOM!"
A musical journey created by Jonathan Larson; Directed by James Sgambati
Over a persistent ticking sound, Jon introduces himself: The sound you are hearing is not a technical problem or a musical cue. It is the sound of one mans mounting anxiety. I... am that man. Jon is an aspiring composer for musical theatre, who lives in SoHo, New York.
Susan, his girlfriend, wants to get married and move out of the city. Michael, his best friend, is making big bucks on Madison Avenue and, yet, Jon is still waiting on tables and trying to write the great American musical.
Larson began to perform the piece as a solo work in 1990. After some revisions, it was premiered Off-Broadway in 2001. Since then, the show enjoyed an American national tour, two Off-Broadway revivals in 2014 and 2016, and numerous local and international productions.
Come share the angst, humor and compassion with characters who wrestle with life choices we all remember.
James Sgambati ODonnell is directing "Tick, Tick...Boom!" This is James directorial debut at the Jewel Box Theatre. Previous Jewel Box credits include Clarence in Radio On The Airs production of "Its A Wonderful Life" and "Ring Of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash."
