20% Theatre Company presents the regional premiere of the documentary film:
ALL WE'VE GOT
Directed by Alexis Clements | USA | 2019 | 67 mins _______
Community is elusive. It's something we talk about a lot, but don't always get to experience. What does it really mean? And how do we find it?
Since 2010, over 100 bars, bookstores, and community spaces where LGBTQ women gather have closed. Writer and filmmaker Alexis Clements wanted to better understand why that was happening, and why some spaces have managed to stay open despite the odds.
From Brooklyn, New York, to Oklahoma City and San Antonio, Texas, this film explores LGBTQ womens spaces and communities in order to better understand why having a place to gather matters, particularly for marginalized groups.
"In a time of cultural anxiety about the erasure of our Lesbian, feminist, and queer histories, Clements brings alive five sites where progressive collectives subvert brutal capitalism and racist exclusions with joy, shared struggle, respected desire, and gender complexities. For historians, for community activists, for poets, for philosophers of change, for the young and for the old, All Weve Got is a text, a vision, a challenge, and a pleasure." --Joan Nestle, Lambda Award-winning Author and Editor, Co-founder, Lesbian Herstory Archives _______
