Series 4 | Catellier Dance Projects (ATL) Modern Dance with Gustavo Ramirez Sansano (Spain) Contemporary Performance | Performance Series IV
Presented by The Goat Farm Arts Center & glo
Tanz Farm is back for its second season! With performances and initiatives running from October 2013 through May 2014, season two promises to bring the best talent from around the world to Atlanta's Goodson Yard Performance Hall at the Goat Farm Arts Center in West Midtown.
Tanz Farm is happy to bring Gustavo Ramirez Sansano of San Fulgencio to Atlanta for the fourth series of performances and initiatives of Season 2 to join Catellier Dance Projects of Atlanta in this fourth and final Performance series of the season.
Founded in 2010, Atlanta-based Catellier Dance Projects (CDP) creates intimate, multi-media dance performances that contemplate the empirical. Dedicated to works that cut across personal, social and political layers, CDP engages multiple performance modalities to develop sophisticated movement, compelling video, thoughtful text and adventurous stage design. Choreographer, dancer, lighting designer and fearless leader Greg Catellier collaborates with performers and artists to build work that has been called "smartly personal, transparently accessible and deeply funny." Following the success of Tempo (May 2011), the final frontier (May 2012) and E (January 2013), CDP is currently developing Corpus Mysteriis, the fourth and final part in a series of evening-length pieces exploring the fundamental dimensions of dance.
Gustavo Rimerez Sansano (Spain) was appointed Artistic Director of Luna Negra Dance Theater in 2009, after directing TITOYAYA Dance Project in Valencia, Spain for the last four years. Sansano has been the recipient of numerous awards for his choreography, including first prizes at the Ricard Moragas competition in Barcelona, the Dom Perignon choreographic competition in Hamburg, and at Las Artes Escénicas de la Comunidad Valenciana. His work has been featured at "Les Etoiles de Ballet" in Cannes, and the IX International Festival of Ballet in Miami. He has been commissioned to create works for Compania Nacional de Danza, the Hamburg Ballet, Budapest Dance Theater, Ballet Junior de Genève, and Nederlands Dans Theater II, among others. As a dancer, Sansano performed works by Jacopo Godani, Hans Van Manen, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Johan Inger, Paul Lightfoot, Victor Ullate and many more, working for the Ballet Joven de Alicante, Ballet Contemporaneo de Barcelona, Ballet de la Comunidad de Madrid, Nederlands Dans Theater II and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.
