Event
Bridgend Bothy Burns' Supper
The evening, hosted by a local star, will start with the incomparable Craigmillar bard, Johnni Stanton reciting To a Haggis and Beth Godfrey (poet and spoken word artist) will be presenting the Immortal Memory. Later award-winning architect, Malcolm Fraser, will be Addressing the Lassies, with a Reply from the Lassies.
We've a full three-course Burns Supper including local cheeses, Edinburgh oatcakes, Macsweens meat and delicious home-made vegan haggis, organic neeps and tatties from East Lothian, followed by cranachan. All washed down with local and organic wines, beers and single malts available from the fundraising cash bar.
We'll be serenaded by a fabulous local folk roots band with their own songs and spinning tunes. It will be an old-style ceilidh with guests encouraged to offer a turn and bring a song, poetry or story to share (we'll save dancing for our wilder ceilidh nights!).
Doors open at 6pm with everyone to be seated for the piping in of the haggis by 6.30pm. Places are limited to 100 guests so do reserve your place now.
Please buy your tickets in advance so we know (a) how many to cook for, (b) your dietary requirements, and (c) any musical/poetic offerings.
If you are booking as part of a 'Burns' table' please let us know which table or otherwise choose 'unreserved table' when booking your tickets.
This event is fundraising for and celebrating with Bridgend Inspiring Growth.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
