Spintuition Concert and Contra Dance
Join Spintuition for a concert and Contra Dance with Ron Blechner calling at Mettabee Farm and Arts on Friday, January 3rd. We will give an hour long concert beginning at 6:30pm. Then we will enjoy a social SNACK POTLUCK! We will bring some snacks, you will bring some snacks, and we will eat them together while the hall is being set up for the contra dance.Concert: 6:30pm-7:30pm
SNACKS: 7:30pm-8:00pm
Contra Dance: 8:00pm-11:00pm
Spintuition is an award-winning New England based folk band that blends creativity and tradition into tight harmony and joyous rhythms. Silas Hamilton (Guitar, Piano, Fiddle, Vocals, Feet), Willy Clemetson (Fiddle, Vocals, Feet), and Samuel Foucher (Accordion, Piano, Vocals) play primarily contra dance style music but they have also crafted sweet arrangements of traditional songs into their repertoire for concerts.
In 2019, two years after the band was formed, Spintuition tied for first place in the Young Tradition Vermont contest in Burlington. Since then the band has been exploring new territory. They played on the big stage at the Chandler Center for the Arts in the New World Festival and extended their contra circuit down into New York City and all the way up to Canada. Spintuition has also just released their first album, Seven Year Flood, a well-seasoned stew of original tunes and traditional songs.
Presenting a compelling mixture of spicy tunes and glorious old songs in the styles of trad-Irish, French-Canadian, and Old Time, Spintuition has cultivated a vibrant and vital sound that will leave you hungry for more.
