Tall Celtic Tales (part of Deadgood Week)
The stories behind this one man show are old indeed - the earliest written versions are in the collection of legends which has come to be known as the "Mabinogion", and the earliest written version(in Welsh) dates from about 1200 AD. The stories are much older than that though - the ancient Bards were not allowed to write doen their tales, but must memorize them word-for-word in order to qualify for the profession.
Gareth, who among many other things is a stand-up comic and the author of the Pantos, "Arrr! A very British Pantomime" and "Wotcha! Gotcha! a Very British Pantomime", brings his inimitble brand of humorto the retelling of these tales.
Delightful, amusing, and even a little bit instructive, this is a show that will grab your attention - and will have som of you up n the stage to join in.
It's being staged as part of "Deasdgood Week", a showcase for Maplewood's own purveyors of fun events of all sorts.
Also in Deadgood Week are - a first look at the December show, "Wotcha! Gotcha!", An Adults Improv comedy Evening Ye Olde Survey Sez game show and finally, the spectacular, not-to-be-missed explosive, immersive Pirating thing-which-you've-never-done-anything-like-before that is "Murdarrr on the Spanish Main".
