Bob Sterry presents The Book of Bob
Everyone has their own Book, too rarely opened, which contains all the songs they wish they had sung and words they wish they had said. Bob Sterry is opening his book and, with the help of special guest, presents a comedic and satirical revelation in song and words using the music of Randy Newman, Tom Lehrer, Jaques Brel and other mostly verifiable sources. Be prepared to laugh.
Writer, poet, voice-over and stage actor, and performing artist are a few of the descriptors used to loosely define Bob Sterry who came to earn these titles after a long career as an analytical chemist and hi-tech sales and marketing professional. His recently published collection of essays, poems and short stories, The Bob Sterry School of Burglary represents over fifteen years of facing a blank page and writing. Usually this happened in airports and hotels as he traveled around the hi-tech world. As a child and young man, the English school and university system attempted to educate him with only marginal success. This did not prevent him from immigrating into the United States, marrying Anne-Louise, having a family and sharing their love of music and tongue-in-cheek humor. Both he and Anne-Louise regard Artichoke Music and its friends and volunteers as one of their creative homes.
