Kensington Symphony Orchestra Presents American Holiday!
The KSO, under Music Director Geoffrey Gallegos, presents a program of all-American music for its holiday concert. The program will begin with the rollicking and energetic Buckaroo Holiday from Coplands ballet Rodeo. This will be followed by the world premiere of A Musicians Life: a parable and reconciliation inspired by the life and death of Robert Blanshard. Robert Blanshard was a long time member and Co-Principal bass of the KSO until his sudden death in 2018. The premiere will feature soprano, Paige Patrick.
After intermission, Maestro Gallegos will lead the orchestra in Second New England School composer George Chadwicks sumptuous and tranquil Noel from his Symphonic Sketches, and the concert will come to a swinging close with Duke Ellingtons brilliant homage to Tchaikovskys Nutcracker Suite as arranged by Billy Strayhorn and adapted for orchestra by Jeff Tyzik.
Dont miss this festive celebration of great American!
