Libby Fireside Concert featuring Henri Smith

Henri Smith was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, the birthplace of Jazz. His career started here, where he polished his sophisticated and dramatic vocal delivery. Then he took it on the road, successfully touring the United States and Europeand thrilling audiences with his New Orleans Jazz, Blues, Creole and Cajun flavored music.

AfterHurricane Katrina destroyed his home in New Orleans in 2005, Henri subsequently moved north toCape Ann. But true to his roots, hestill remainsa true ambassador forthe city of New Orleans. Henri Smith's repertoire encompasses the cultural heritage of New Orleans flavoured with Jazz, Blues, Creole, Cajun, Funk, Rhythm & Blues, Calypso, Caribbean, Latin, and Swing, performing songs popularized by Louis Armstrong, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Fats Domino, Paul Barbarin, Earl King, and Big Chief Donald Harrison.

Henri now toursthroughout New England and back toNew Orleans with his All-Star Jazz, Blues, Creole and Cajun Band called "Henri Smith New Orleans Friends & Flavours". He has shared the stage with The James Montgomery Blues Band, Roomful of Blues, Charles Neville (of the Neville Brothers), The Chris Fitz Band, The Hurricane Horns with Craig Rawring, Lisa Marie and All Shook, Grace Kelly, Stanton Davis Jr and The Ghetto Mysticism Revival, River City Slim and the Zydeco Hogs, The Davis and Deleault Quartet, The Tony Gallo Band and others. Henri also uses his powerful baritone voice to sing the national anthem for the "Boston Celtics" basketball team.

Besides singing and performing music Henri is also a Movie and TV Actor, appearing inmany recent films (see his website http:henrismithmusic. tripod.com/bio.htm#top). Henri also now hosts his own Music TV Show called "Henri Smith's N'awlins East",on the Cape Ann Cable TV Network. People say that Henri's smooth voice sounds like Legendary Superstar Lou Rawls. ....Do you agree?!
