The Art of Science: Observational drawing workshop + marine debris research

Date: Monday January 27th, 5-8pm (*This event is 2-part) Location: Crane's Castle Brewing, 1550 NE Riddell Rd., Bremerton
Join one or both parts of this exciting event: 1) Art Workshop: 5:00- 6:30pm - $20 per person (*registration required) Join local artist Jacquelyn Speare as she guides us through an observational drawing workshop. Create your own drawings of seashells found on the beaches of the Puget Sound while learning about the cool critters that inhabited them with staff from Washington Sea Grant and Harbor WildWatch. Participants will learn basic drawing techniques and add watercolor to their work to take home. Learn more about Jacquelyn at https://www.jacquelynspeare.com/. 2) COASST Presentation: 7:00- 8:00pm - FREE! (*No registration required; participation in this part is first-come, first-served) Following the art workshop, members of the University of Washingtons COASST team will share current research on marine debris and provide ways to plug-in and make a difference. Throughout event, participants are invited to sip on locally brewed beer and kombucha and munch on delicious food from Augie's Backyard BBQ. *Vegetarian options are available.
