Divine Brown Juno Award-winning singer and theatre performer, Divine Brown has been thrilling audiences since the beginning of her tremendous career.
Quisha Wint Quisha was born to sing and entertain. She grew up in a Jamaican/Canadian home listening to Reggae, Motown, Gospel, R&B, then entered the jazz program at Humber College in the mid 90s. From there she embarked upon her dream of performing with well-known musicians, which took her to exciting overseas hotel engagements. Since then, Quisha has sung in many parts of Asia, Europe, North America, and Caribbean. With a bright personality and strong emotive vocal abilities, Quisha is one of Torontos most sought-after session vocalists. She also performs regularly at corporate gigs. Currently living in the GTA, Quisha is well established in the tight-knit music industry. She is a phenomenal and expressive vocalist who also inspires others to live out their dreams. QW Productions was birthed out of a dream Quisha had. Her company launched in 2014 and continues to grow, providing outstanding and professional entertainment in a classy and nostalgic atmosphere; while providing a platform for artists and musicians to showcase their awesome gifts. Quisha is an inspiration to many and her hope is to live out her life knowing that many lives have been transformed positively through her works.
Claire Doyle Based in Toronto ON Canada, Claire Doyle is the person you seek for "mighty vocals". With warmth and dynamism, she leaves everything on the stage or the tape reel. Throughout her professional singing years, Claire has shared the stage with a variety of acclaimed artists such as Motown Legend Martha Reeves of 'Martha & the Vandellas', Snoop Dogg, New Orleans' famed Treme Brass Band, Charlotte Day-Wilson, Jessie Reyez, Daniel Caesar, and closest to her heart, the Grammy-nominated group Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings. As lead singer for Toronto funk outfit YUKA, Claire has established a reputation for being a soul-powerhouse.
Dani Nash To know Dani Nash is to admire her; her kindness, dedicated workethic and boundless talent are apparent to anyone she meets. Naturally an artist through and through, Nash began her music career in Toronto while earning a fine arts degree from OCAD University. Her passion for music led her to quickly become an admired and respected fixture in the Toronto music scene. An accomplished and highly sought after drummer and equally talented vocalist and guitarist, Dani has spent the last ten years performing with some of Canadas top artists. As a proud member of the queer community, Nash is also a pillar of the Toronto queer music scene, and counts playing at Toronto Pride as one of her favourite performances.
Aphrose APHROSE is an independent Soul artist from Toronto, Canada. Raised in the culturally diverse neighbourhoods of Scarborough, Aphroses musical tastes were shaped by all the various genres present in her Trinidadian household. Taking her audience with her every step of the way, Aphrose has a reputation in Toronto for her powerful and soaring R&B vocal stylings fronting and supporting the many bands and artists she performs with. She had the honour of working with and learning from industry heavyweights such as Daniel Caesar, Lee Fields & The Expressions, Jessie Reyez, & Nikki Yanofsky, to name a few. Her latest accomplishment found her singing to sold out crowds as the tour opener for Canadian power couple Raine Maida (of Our Lady Peace) and Chantal Kreviazuks new collaborative project Moon vs Sun, as well as lending her voice to a nationally aired Raptors ad that ran from the playoffs til championships. Aphroses new album, Element, released on November 8th.
Raha Javanfar A musician, designer, and theatre performer, Raha Javanfar is a multi-faceted artist. She performs with various bands as a violinist, bass player, singer, and songwriter. She is the front woman for Bad Luck Woman & Her Misfortunes (Maple Blues Awards nominee), a blues/R&B/Rocknroll band, who play regularly in Toronto and have played at the Markham Jazz Festival, Tremblant International Blues Festival, and the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival. In addition to gigging with BLW and other bands, Raha regularly performs at Soulpepper Theatre as part of their concert series (88 Keys, Promised Land, Riverboat). Raha has designed lights and/or projections for theatre, concerts, opera, and dance, and toured internationally as projections designer. She's been nominated for a Dora award as a playwright, received the Siminovitch Protege award as a lighting designer, and currently teaches lighting design at Ryerson University. Raha will be hosting the 2020 Maple Blues Awards.
Musical Director, Fraser Melvin An old soul in a young mans body, Fraser Melvin sounds three times his age and much larger than he looks. He commands a room with a voice and takes aim with his guitar. With a significant collection of songs spanning the decades, ranging from the early blues of the 20s, to the tin pan alley tunes of the 30s, the swing and jump tunes of the 40s, to the Jazz and Blues standards of the 50s Fraser brings together his love of music and passion for performance with his knowledge of music and its history to provide an entertaining, interesting, and nostalgic performance for listeners young and old.
