Fumbling for the Knob by Jay Byrd
Salvage Vanguard Theater announces the Works Progress Austin development of Jay Byrds Fumbling for the Knob.
Fumbling for the Knob is an (almost) solo performance in progress. This workshop reading features object puppetry, original music, irreverent humor, and heart-wrenching honesty. Fumbling for the Knob is Jay Byrds theatricalized experimental memoir about closets. Closets of the mind; the closets where we hide our shameful secrets; the closets were forced into by family or society.
Featuring performers Jay Byrd and khattieQ. Directed by Jenny Larson. Original music by Jay Byrd and Lyova Rosanoff. Object puppetry by CB Goodman. Sound design by Robert Fisher.
Contains mature subject matter which may not be suitable for all audiences. Parental guidance suggested.
Works Progress Austin is Salvage Vanguard Theater's new works development series. Started in 2006, WPA has supported the work of Dan Dietz, Caridad Svich, and Daniel Alexander Jones.
