Mark Browne, Jan DeWeese and Jim Bolland CD Release and Benefit for Artichoke
A couple of great musicians and a songwriter walked into a bar, and came out with a quirky album of 15 genre jumping tunes that will have you walking into that bar, saying Ill have what theyre having! Well, you can have it all. This is a collection of tunes ranging from love to death, with stops at port-a potties in between trips to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and the cowboy moon.
Mark Browne began his songwriting by accident, but wasnt hurt by his collision with the muse, so keeps on collecting them out of the ether and his weirdly wired brain. He lives off the grid in the woods outside of White Salmon, Washington, playing music, ping pong and dancing whenever he can.
Jan DeWeese has been teaching generations of Portlanders how to play a vast array of instruments over the last 40 plus years, and has been a fixture of the Irish, Brazilian, and World Music scenes over the same time span. He has worn out several sets of elbows doing so.
Jim Bolland has been playing in bands since a teenager in New Jersey, sneaking into clubs in New York and going to Woodstock. A longtime Oregonian, he played in Blackfish, a Cajun band, among others, and is both a multi-instrumentalist and a brilliant songwriter.
All proceeds go to benefit Artichoke Community Music. Thank you!
